Shoes for Work

If you work on your feet all day, you know what that can do to your body. Especially in a job that requires standing in one place for a prolonged period, you’ve experienced the slow soreness that creeps in to your feet, legs, back and neck. You may try to shift from one foot to the other, but that only goes so far.

The best way to combat this discomfort is to pick out a pair of shoes that will be more comfortable to stand in. Dress shoes and high heels won’t cut it – you’ll need something with more support and a sturdy, solid base.

The American Podiatric Medical Association has a whole list of brands that have been given the APMA’s Seal of Acceptance. This means that the shoes provide a healthy amount of support, and may be beneficial to your well being in the work place.

If you like Crocs sandals, then you may be interested in the Crocs line of work shoes. Crocs work shoes have the familiar feeling of Crocs sandals, but they also have a built up heel and an upper that conforms to work-place norms. They also have built in arch support for longer lasting comfort.

Another brand that is popular in the work place is Dansko. Dansko shoes have been popular for years among teachers, nurses, and health care providers. They come in a variety of styles, many of which are a clog. They are popular among men and women, and can be a very comfortable shoe.

Timberland has recently introduced a line of PRO shoes, designed specifically has work shoes. They have models such as the professional, provider, and caregiver. The line of shoes features the PRO anti-fatigue technology, which is designed to provide all day comfort to those on their feet all day.

Other brands that have been granted the APMA seal of acceptance for work shoes include Nunn Bush, Rockport, and Sanita Clogs. All of these brands offer a line of shoes that have a good amount of support and are designed specifically as work shoes.

So if you’ve got a job where you need to be on your feet all day, you may want to invest in a pair of shoes. Being comfortable at work will keep you happy, make you more productive, and keep you feeling great all day. You can see the whole list of the APMA-approved brands here.
